This is my website for spring 2023 IML300 class.
I am is a senior student studying at university of southern california, majoring in Communications and minoring in cinematic arts. This is my first attempt to try coding and experiemnt documenting memory and oral history in the digital platform, so please forgive the roughness of my work :).
Projects
Project 1: Interactive Audio & Visual with p5.js
In this project, I wanted to explore famous Chinese rock music Cuijian's music and its potential representation in digital world.
Project 2: HyperNarrative
In this project, I wanted to document some of the most important
moments in my mother's life. I interviewed her and asked her to share
some moments, and I found this process helped me to better understand
her, and even helped me to better revisit history and witness how those
grand history events influence and intertwine with our family.
Project 3: Networked Justice
My final project is an activism advocacy website, which is designed for an imagined org "Reproductive Funds For students." This organization wants to help students in the southern states, where abortion access is banned or criminalized, to get fund and support. Therefore, this website hopes people can come visit and donate accordingly. Since I want the overall tone to be professional and attract more audiences to believe the cause and donate, the website becomes more professional and business -alike. However, I still manage to incorporate some "creative" sections under the story menu. For example, the upload/feature/community site is designed for AFAB college community to share their concerns on reproductive rights and upload their own story in relation to abortion/reproductive care. and the interactive game is a part where audiences briefly experience what the difficulties college students can encounter when they can not access abortion for unwanted pregeanncy.
It also intends to serve as an information/resources center, so it has many hyperlinks leading you to latest campus policy updates on reproductive care, or trust-worthy abortion clinics finders.
